Challenge
The Title X Family Planning Program supports a national network of approximately 4,000 service sites, providing reproductive health services to five million people each year. In order to maintain program efficiency and compliance, the Office of Population Affairs (OPA) conducts program review, provides Technical Assistance (TA) to grantees, and holds national meetings and conferences to exchange best practices and information.
Solution
Atlas Research is providing ongoing support and technical assistance to OPA, including expert consultants to ensure and enhance program effectiveness; expert consultants to provide grantee and provider assessments; and meeting and conference support.
Result
Atlas is currently working with OPA to review existing processes for recruiting, training, retaining, and assessing expert consultants to identify potential improvements and implement as approved. Throughout the contract period, the Atlas Team will manage the consultant database, coordinate fulfilment of TA and program review requests, and manage all consultant travel and logistics. In addition, Atlas will provide support prior to, during, and after OPA national grantee conferences and expert panel meetings. Support will include agenda planning, facilitation, meeting minutes, and participant coordination. The purpose of these meetings is to expand and exchange program-related knowledge to deliver more effective and efficient services. In 2015, Atlas facilitated two expert panel meetings; the first reviewed processes and requirements for updating the Quality Family Planning recommendations document, and the second included representatives from grantees, OPA, CDC, and other organizations to discuss improving delivery of sustainable quality family planning services.
