Challenge
Workplace violence and disruptive behavior are realities that the staff and providers at the U.S Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) potentially face every day. Recent incidents have brought this issue to light, making addressing these problems a top priority for VA and their MyVA initiative. The Workplace Violence Prevention Program (WVPP) helps mitigate and prevent these risks from occurring and causing potential harm to our nation’s Veterans and VA staff.
Solution
VA contracted Atlas Research to deliver project management, program design, and program development for a pilot program that will provide employees with training and support to help prevent workplace violence and handle an incident if it does occur. The pilot program is set to be tested out in the Northeast Region.
Result
Atlas is working with VA to support a program that will enable consistency, proactive prevention, and risk mitigation across the entire Department.
