Assisting VA Through the Reporting Dashboard Assessment, Evaluation, and Development Process

Challenge

Technological advancements and implementation play an important role in providing top-quality benefits and services to United States (U.S.) Veterans. However, to ensure that these solutions are achieving the proper results, someone must oversee them and provide comprehensive metrics and reporting on their effectiveness. VA’s Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) Enterprise Management Office (EPMO) is responsible for providing a consolidated, enterprise platform that will identify, select, prioritize, and execute many of these technological projects. A key part of this is selecting and developing the ideal dashboard technology solution to enable stronger reporting and more effective organization.

Solution

The OI&T EPMO contracted Atlas Research to provide consultation and advisory services to help them evaluate dashboard technology solutions, assess organizational design, and develop comprehensive recommendations. Atlas is working with the Department to lay out a project management plan, assess the current state, define the future state, and conduct stakeholder interviews. These interviews will help Atlas identify technical needs, pinpoint important features, determine design recommendations, and develop recommended performance metrics.

Result

Atlas is working with OI&T EPMO to develop a future state dashboard design and functionality, along with an implementation roadmap, to ensure a smooth dashboard transition and that the performance metrics end-vision is reached. Atlas is providing the OI&T EPMO with project management support and all the tools, evaluation, and strategy necessary to move forward with the dashboard design and implementation. This dashboard is a single tool that will ultimately provide senior leaders with a better look at overall performance and provide clear metrics and analytics to track success.
