Atlas Research is a proud sponsor of the National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic, held annually in Snowmass Village, Colorado. The clinic brings together Veterans, their families, sponsors, and volunteers to celebrate the resilience of U.S. military Veterans and disabled active-duty Service Members; the week-long event is organized by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
Atlas Vice President Theolinda (Teddi) Mikula and Executive Vice President Beth Mahan will attend the DAV Sponsor kickoff dinner and other activities throughout the week.
Centered on adaptive winter sports instruction, including adaptive skiing in sit-skis, mono-skis, and bi-skis, the clinic also includes instruction in Alpine and Nordic skiing for stand-up skiers. For those participants inclined to stay off of the slopes, the clinic offers a variety of alternative activities including scuba diving, rock climbing, and wheel chair self-defense.
Participants also attend seminars and educational workshops aimed at providing Veterans with resources, skills, and lasting connections to enrich their lives long after conclusion of the activities.
The National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic has been dedicated to providing opportunities for self-development and challenge through sports and leisure activities since 1987. In conjunction with VA and DAV, the clinic encourages health, growth, and hope within the American Veteran community.
