WASHINGTON, D.C. – Atlas Research is working with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) to assess and improve the agency’s structure, practices and policies, in order to advance care for Veterans and their families.
VHA is dedicated to improving critical administrative processes and creating a high reliability organization (HRO) focused on modernizing Veterans health care. This work includes providing management assessments for areas most relevant to the needs of Veterans, making recommendations for improvement, and adopting best practices and innovations throughout VHA.
Atlas is providing analysis and recommendations in areas integral to the success of the agency and crucial to its ability to improve care as demand grows over the coming years. Such areas include policy development, organizational structure, workforce composition, business processes and practices, internal and external communications, employee skill levels and quality of work life, customer service and related management areas.
“Atlas has extensive experience across the Department of Veterans Affairs, with significant breadth and depth in health strategy and health operations,” said Atlas President and Chief Executive Officer Robin Portman. “We are leveraging our experience with VHA’s unique environment and culture to ultimately enhance VHA’s hospital administration, patient safety, and leadership engagement. The goal is to support the organization’s efforts to drive transformational change for critical administrative processes.”
This project is a task order titled, “Veteran Health Administration Management and Human Resources Assessment and Improvement Support” on the Human Capital & Training Solutions (HCATS) indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, a General Services Administration (GSA) “Best-in-Class” vehicle.
The Department of Veterans Affairs recently prioritized the use of “Best-in-Class” vehicles, along with Category Management – an approach that helps the Federal Government manage acquisitions of products and services more effectively and efficiently. Atlas Research is proud to support the Department’s efforts.
